Thunderous Intent· Print
The American Bison has such a devastating story. I genuinely wish I could have seen the full herds of bison roam the american prairies — their numbers were over 60 million before buffalo hunts of the 1800s were used kill them en mass in order to subdue the native populaces. They were very nearly wiped out, at their lowest there were barely more than 500 in the US, and the population has been built up since then. But we will never get to see them roam in the millions. Their fierce comeback has earned my admiration and love.
It is with fierce and thunderous intent that I stride forth. Into my own. Into the new world we build. I will not sit idly by into memory— into extinction. I am here. I am now. I will be seen and heard and leave my prints in the earth. Carving the path under my feet for others to follow — or break from and stride their own way. Let’s all step forward.
