Panther Chameleon Clock

300.00

Part of my Time series for the Hokin Gallery show - Not on Paper.

Each piece represents a different animal that has a unique relationship with time, memory and mortality.

The Lablord's Chameleon reach maturity very quickly - after mating and laying eggs the entire population dies until the next hatching. The concept of having no adults of this species existing for any span of time is so intriguing. Do the babies learn from other species of chameleon? Is their entire behavior nature rather than nurture? It is my fascination with this animal that led to this piece.

Charcoal Drawing with Oil glazing, approx diameter of 12"

And Yes! the clocks do work! :)
